&lt;p>The Chancellor&amp;rsquo;s Dissertation Medal recognizes exceptional doctoral research based on the impact, originality, creativity, and quality of the work. This award represents the highest honor for doctoral research at UC San Diego.&lt;/p>
&lt;h2 id="vijays-research-contributions">Vijay&amp;rsquo;s Research Contributions&lt;/h2>
&lt;p>During his Ph.D. studies in the Cognitive Science department under the guidance of Professor Virginia de Sa, Vijay made significant contributions to computer vision and human vision research. His main research achievements include:&lt;/p>

&lt;p>&lt;strong>Bio-inspired Adaptive RNN Architecture&lt;/strong>: Developed an adaptive RNN architecture that learned to dynamically scale its computation with input task-difficulty, published in NeurIPS 2023.&lt;/p>

&lt;li>
&lt;p>&lt;strong>Human Vision and Adversarial Perturbations&lt;/strong>: Conducted groundbreaking research studying human vision&amp;rsquo;s sensitivity to adversarial image perturbations, published in Nature Communications 2023.&lt;/p>
